James 'Jimmy' L. Bond

Kingman, Ind. - James 'Jimmy' L. Bond, 75, of rural Kingman, passed away unexpectedly at 11:45 a.m. EDT Saturday, April 11, 2020 at his residence.

Jimmy was born on March 29, 1945 in Clinton, Indiana the son of the late Donald and Thelma A. (Brook) Bond.

He married Rita Baird on September 14, 1975 in Newport, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include his son: Jeff (Becky) Bond of Veedersburg, Indiana; brother: Charley (Nancy) Bond of Dana, Indiana; sister-in-law: Ruth Ann (Raymond) Bush of Lodi, Indiana; nieces: Jennifer (Marty) Brown, Dana (Chad) Payne, Gidget (Russell) Hall, Renne' (Chad) Pugh, Dawn (Harold) Newnum, Suzie (Webb) Crouch, Shelly (Corey) Skinner and Lee Ann (Drew) Mullens; nephews: Bobby (Shelly) Harrison, Clint (Heather) Bush, Ronnie Bond, Brad Bond and Alex Bond; several great nieces and nephews that he thoroughly enjoyed and special friend: George Little.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Torie D. Bond (April 10, 2020); brother: Richard Bond and great nephew: Braeden Hollowell.

Jimmy retired from Fauber/Milestone after 35 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Army. Jimmy graduated from Turkey Run High School in 1963. He was a member of the Local #841 Operators in Oakwood, Illinois and the Kingman American Legion Post 384. He enjoyed farming, hanging out at R.C.N with all of his buddies, operating his backhoe and going to his nieces and nephews sporting events.

Due to the current health crisis a private family graveside service will be held at Miller Cemetery in Lodi, Indiana. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements. Contributions may be made to the Cayuga Church of The Nazarene, PO Box 155, Cayuga, Indiana 47928-0155.
