James "Jim" Zarn

James “Jim” Zarn, 59, of Danville, IL passed away at 11:35 PM on March 4, 2025 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Jim was born on September 17, 1965 the son of John and Yuriko (Toyoda) Zarn at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He married Abbie Carpenter on September 1, 1995 in Danville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Abbie Zarn of Danville, IL, his children, Ashley (Ryan) Birge of Catlin, IL, Kortney (Jordan Flint) Bracken of Catlin, IL, Justin (Amy) Zarn of Covington, IN, Emily (Trent) French of Covington, IN and McKenzie (Zach) West of Fisher, IL, his grandchildren, Lanie, Colby, Rawley, Sophia, Lola, Lennox, Luka, Noa, Haley, Kyler, Brantley, Asher and Memphis, his siblings, Lillian (George) Rutan of Bismarck, IL, Joseph (Annette) Zarn of Danville, IL and Diane (Rich) Lazzell of Danville, IL. Jim is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his three dogs, “Bristol”, “Nikkie” and “Tucker”.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents.

Jim worked in the automobile industry in a variety of positions his entire life. He has been with the Courtesy Auto Group for over 30 years and most recently was the General Manager. Jim was an avid baseball fan and cheered on the Philadelphia Phillies and enjoyed spending his free time watching the Food Network, Barrett-Jackson and Mecum Auto Auctions, and attending car shows.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Pastor Al Rudie will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025 at the funeral home.
