James 'Jim' Weidig

James Edmund Weidig, 67, of Danville, passed away at 8:25pm on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Provena USMC in Danville. He was born in Chicago, IL, on March 31, 1943, the son of James and Retha (Ruggles) Weidig. Jim is survived by his wife, Darlene (Cross) Weidig and their four children, James Scott (Penny) Weidig of Tilton, Tamara Bogard of Oakwood, Angela (Robert) Rutledge of Roberts, IL, and Heather (Clayton) Biggs of Marion, IL. Also surviving Jim are his eleven grandchildren, Chelsea and Brandon Weidig, Phillip and Kyle Bogard, April, Michele, and Megan Rutledge, and Kaydence, Carter, Kinzley, and Kambrey Biggs, as well as his sister, Judy Williams of Lynchburg, Tenn, and several of his nieces and nephews. His parents, 2 wives, and one brother-in-law, Ronnie Williams preceded Jim in death. Jim was employed with the General Motors Tilton Foundry, working in maintance and retiring after 43 years of service. He was a past member of the Lynch Fire Department, and an avid Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed fishing and sitting on his porch. He will be missed by all that knew him. A celebration of the life of James Jim Weidig, will begin at 10:00am on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-8pm on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the funeral home.
