James “Jim” Webb, 83, passed away on October 10, 2025 at his beloved home in Perrysville, Indiana. He was born in Cayuga, Indiana on June 17, 1942 to the late James and Doris {Aldrich} Webb. Following his education at Cayuga High School, Jim took a significant step in his life by enlisting in the United States Army in September of 1960.
Jim’s pride and joy was his farm. He began his journey into the equestrian world by purchasing his first mule at the young age of 14. Over the years, he devoted himself to raising and training both horses and mules, finding unparalleled joy in these activities. He also cherished any opportunity to visit with his friends and family who will miss him dearly.
Jim dedicated an impressive 32 years to NACCO/ Hyster, during which he held various roles, including those of a forklift driver and a Union Representative. His contributions to the company were invaluable and showcase his commitment to his work and colleagues.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Webb; his brother Steven Ray Webb; and his brother-in-law Freeman “Flip” Newell.
Jim is survived by his wife of over 29 years, Priscilla {Thompson} Webb; his children Rebecca “Becky” Webb, Julie Jones, and Dennis “Clint” (Morgan) Webb; his grandchildren Michelle, Ashton, Luke, Noah, Parker, and Eli; and 8 great-grandchildren, of which he was eagerly awaiting the 9th on its way. He is also survived by his sister Reva Newell, as well as his stepchildren Scott (Jennifer) Moreman and Jamie (Daniel) Crawford.
A graveside service for Jim will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm EST at Hughes Cemetery in rural Perrysville. Sunset Funeral Home’s DeVerter Chapel in Cayuga assisted his family with arrangements.
