James 'Jim' Lee Wallen

James "Jim" Lee Wallen, 86, of Danville went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 8, 2022.

Jim was born on November 20, 1935 the son of Raymond B. and Helen (Johnson) Wallen in Danville, IL. He married Anna Mae White on December 22, 1957 in Danville, IL.

Survivors include his wife Anna Mae Wallen, his cousins Donald Stunkard, Robert Stunkard and Sue Cabunac, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and extended family and friends.

Jim served in the United States Air Force from December 21, 1956 until August 1, 1977. Jim was an upholsterer by trade and while in the Air Force, Jim was assigned to Air Force One and served from President Johnson until the early years of President Carter. Jim was a member of CrossRoads Christian Church.

He enjoyed spending his free time doing upholstery work, drawing, painting in oils and acrylics, and crafting stained glass art. He also enjoyed buying and selling antique cars and spending time with his good friend Butch Schroeder at the airport hangar.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at CrossRoads Christian Church, on Saturday February 19th, 2022. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am with the service following at 11:00am. Miles Clark will officiate. CrossRoads Christian Church is located at 3613 N Vermilion Street, Danville, IL 61832. His burial will be at a later date at Johnson Cemetery.

Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center is assisting the family with arrangement. They are located at 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. It is kindly requested that those in attendance of the services please wear a mask and practice social distancing.
