James 'Jim’ Holman

James "Jim" Holman, 83, of Georgetown, passed away at 4:55am, Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at OSF Heart of Mary Medical Center, Urbana. He was born in Perry County, Illinois the son of Cleopatra Holman Ellis, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Dora Libby Bailey Swisher, and they had three children together who survive him: James Dean (Sandee) Holman, Jeffery (Laura) Holman, & Jannifer (Steve) Steward; grandchildren, James Dean Holman II, Tyler (Yuri) Steward, Kevin (Malinda) Holman, Ryan (Kaylee) Holman, Marcie Holman, & Desiree Steward; and great grandchildren, Carter, Dallas, Brystal, Isaac, Paisleigh, Ethan, and Myla (on the way); and his sister, Patsy Spann. He later married Dorothy Lamar Ankrum, who survives, as well as his stepdaughters, Vickie Butler & Debbie (Jimmie) Souza; and step grandsons, Michael Butler & Brian Butler. Jim worked at Steak-N-Shake and later General Motors Tilton Foundry, later retiring. He enjoyed doing woodwork and going fishing, and camping. He will be missed by many. A celebration of Jims life will be held at 12:00pm, Monday, June 28, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor Gary Farris officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00am to 12:00pm on Monday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to donors choice of charity.
