Danville-James Jim Phillip Dubree, Sr., 76, of Danville died December 13, 2010 around 8:30 AM. He was the first born of Forrest Phillip Dubree and Bertha O. Watson on January 31, 1934, and spent most of his life in and around Danville. He married Phyllis Jean Matteucci in May of 1953. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis and very special pal Jo, his dog. Also surviving are his daughter Debbra (Terry)Noble of GA; 2 sons, James Jr. (Karen) Dubree of Carbondale, IL and Michael (Kris) Dubree of Danville; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Joshua, Ashley, and Alan;6 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters Penny (Jerry) Bowman of Kerrville, TX and Wanda (James) Culp of Danville; and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Darryll and a son in law. Jim retired from Bohn Aluminum/Heatcraft in 1991 after 30 years of service. Jim loved to fish and hunt plus mushrooming when time allowed. He later took up bird watching, gardening and watching his fish ponds with his pal Jo along his side. A service for Jim Dubree will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11-1 PM prior to the services at Sunset. Memorials may be made to the donors choice. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
