James 'Jim' Devore

James Jim Allen Devore, 42, of Danville, passed away suddenly at 11:04am on Saturday, October 2, 2010. He was born on July 11, 1968, in Danville, the son of Gary and Annetta (Cullum) DeVore. Jim is survived and will be missed by his mother, Annetta, of Danville, his two children, Kaleb and Ashlyn DeVore, one brother, David (Becky) Devore of Tampa, Florida, Angel (Dennis) Wasson of Sarasota, Florida, Dawn (Brian) McHone of Danville, Jennifer (Ryan) Fox of Danville, as well as several of his nieces and nephews. His maternal grandparents, Edward and Dorthea Cullum, paternal grandparents, Sylvia and Carl Devore, his father, Gary, and one cousin and lifelong friend, Mike Brown preceded Jim in death. Jim enjoyed computers and gaming, and reading Stephen King novels, but most of all; Jim loved his two children, and cherished the time they had together. He will be missed by all that knew him A memorial service to Celebrate the Life of James Jim DeVore will begin at 6:00pm on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00pm until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made in Jims name to either the American Heart Association or the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.
