James 'Jim' David Collins

James Jim David Collins, 75, of Georgetown, passed away at 6:09pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022, at OSF Sacred Heart Hospital, Danville, IL. He was born on September 30, 1946, in Danville, the son of David and Naomi {Morgan} Collins. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bernice Woodward for 28 years and she will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his children, Kelly (John) Arthur of Georgetown, Chuck (Courtney) Daily of Washington, Nichole (Richard) Brehm of Kansas, & Angie (Kevin) Mahoney of Westville; and his grandchildren, Adin Daily, Isaac Hughes, Iris Daily, Justice Arthur, Phoenix Brehm, Jaycee Arthur, Tyler Mahoney, Wyatt Brehm, & Alaina Mahoney. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ron Collins. Jim worked as an engineer for the railroad for many years and was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He loved attending his grandkids sporting events and was one of their biggest fans. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and piddling around his house and the yard. He really liked watching Westerns and he loved to watch race car driving. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A Memorial Visitation will be held 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846. As were his wishes, he will be accorded cremation rights. Memorial donations may be given to a Georgetown-Ridge Farm High School Athletic program.
