James Jim M. Croucher, 82, of Danville, passed away at 12:52 a.m. Friday, August 21, 2009 at his home. Jim was born on April 10, 1927 in Jasonville, Indiana, the son of Olin and Carrie (Hall) Croucher. Jim attended Jasonville Schools, graduating in 1946. He married Martha E. Dean on July 16, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana. They shared 60 years of married life together. He retired from Hyster, working in welding and the parts department, after 26 years of service. Jim was an outdoorsman, enjoying camping, fishing, hunting and looking for mushrooms. He also enjoyed watching Illini basketball. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Christian Church in Jasonville, Indiana. He was also a 50 year member of the Jasonville Lodge #530, F &A.M. Jim is survived by his wife- Martha E. Croucher of Danville; one son- Norman (Peggy) Croucher of Kingman, Indiana; one daughter- Linda (John) Pasquale of Danville; five grandchildren- Keri Croucher, Beth Croucher, Kathy Croucher, Jason Pasquale and Ryan Pasquale; three step-grandchildren- Bill Elliott, Rob Elliott and Debbie Elliott; three great-grandchildren- Austin, Savannah and Cierra; one brother- Thomas Croucher of Tucker, Georgia; one sister- Martha Brown of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother- Gene Croucher. Funeral Services for James Jim M. Croucher will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Miles Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Johnson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
