James Huston

James "Jim" Huston (91) of rural Williamsport passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 17. Jim was born January 15, 1933, to the late John J and Josephine Richey/Huston. He was the second of 5 children. He attended Perrysville high school.

Jim retired from Olin/Flexel after 42 years of service. He was an avid gardener (King of the Tomatoes), bird watcher, hunter, fisherman, and a great storyteller.

The most important thing to Jim was his family whom he shared with his wife Carolee. Jim and Carolee were married October 8, 1955, at Mt Carmel Church, Covington. They had four children: Andy Huston (Debbie), Crawfordsville; Loretta Huston, Williamsport; Doug Huston, Weatherford, Texas; and Dianna Clark, Perrysville. Jim is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren blessed to have known him and call him Grandpa.

Jim is also survived by his sister Becky Brock (Fred), Veedersburg, brother John Huston (Alberta) of Paris, Illinois, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, his brother Floyd Huston, sister Lilly Mae Robinson, and grandson Isaac Vollmer.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to IU Hospice and Michelle Eades for their support, love, and care.

Private Family services will be held 1-2pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana, on Friday May 24, 2024, followed by a private family burial in Mt Hope Cemetery.
