James (J.D.) Hornor, 76, of Bismarck passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at Danville Care due to complications of epilepsy. He was born on August 27, 1940 in Danville, IL to James David and Agnes (Mittelberg) Hornor. They precede him in death. He is survived by both his siblings, Rod (Sue) Hornor and Leann (Lloyd John) Allison; nephews, Brad (Linda) Hornor, Mark (Janine) Allison, Noel (Toni) Allison, Bryan (Tandy) Allison, Doug Allison and friend Elaine; as well as a niece, Shelly (John) Hluck. Also surviving include 7 great nephews, 3 great nieces, and 1 great great niece. J.D. had a passion for Wheel Horse lawn tractors, he enjoyed adding lights to them. In Bismarck, he mowed lawns and made a point to plow the snow between the high school and grade school so students wouldn't have to walk through the snow. J.D. was a member of the Bismarck Lions Club and belonged to the Bismarck North Side Church of Christ. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3PM on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Visitation will be held prior to his service from 2-3PM at the funeral home. Officiating will be Jimmy Hodges. Burial will be in Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck.
