James Hollin

James Hollin, 77, of Danville, IL, passed away on May 1, 2016 peacefully at his home. He was born on February 24, 1939 in Manchester, KY, the son of Edward and Mary Hollie (Brewer) Hollin. He married Joylea Clark on January 13, 1962 in Ohio. She preceded him in death in 2003. James will be deeply missed by his children; Angela Fox of Danville, IL, James R. "Randy" Hollin of Berea, KY and Derrick Hollin of Berea, KY, siblings; Nathaniel (Lois) Hollin, Cosby (Carol) Hollin and Sandra (Charlie) Foster, grandchildren; Alicia (Dave) Pettigrew, Jared Fox, Jacob Fox and Dylan Heath, great grandchildren, Sarah Joy Pettigrew, Emily Grace Pettigrew and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, Annesia Hollin, sister, Terry Deem and two brothers; Marion and Paul Hollin. James worked as a machinist at Cummins Engine Co. in Columbus, IN for over 30 years before retiring in 1998. He raised gamecock chickens for most of his life. He was very passionate about them and was a member of the Game Breeders Association. He loved the trip he went on to Puerto Rico with his daughter, reading and never met a stranger. James took care of his wife for many years and his family was the most important thing to him. A celebration of James' life will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Gilliland Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg, IN,110 E North St, Greensburg, IN 47240 . Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:30 prior to the service. Burial will take place at his family cemetery in Berea, KY at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, IL and Gilliland Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg, IN are in charge of arrangements. Condolences can be left at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
