James "Jimbo" Haton

James “Jimbo” Haton, 65, of Georgetown, Illinois, passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.

He was born October 12, 1959, in Danville, Illinois, the youngest baby of the late Edward and Rosa (Barrick) Haton.

Jim married Deb Perkins on January 26, 1980, in Danville, Illinois, and together they enjoyed 45 years of marriage.

Jim is survived by his wife, Deb, of 45 years; his son: Matt (Bobbie) Haton; his grandchildren: Tobie, Brodie, Whitnie and Rockie; three sisters: Karen (Tim) Moulton, Millie Varvel and Linda Giles; special aunt and uncle: Jean and Don Bailey; several nieces and nephews; close friends from Germantown, especially The Brown Family; and a very special friend: Josh Diaz and family.

Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Richard and Carol Moody; his brothers: Billy Pease, Eddie Dean Haton, Robert Haton, John Haton; twin brothers: Ronald and Donald; and his “Fat Grandma” and “Skinny Grandma”

Jim worked various jobs over the years, but his favorites were helping others through CRIS Senior Services, and as a dietary aid for the hospital and area nursing homes. Lovingly referred to as “The Lawn Father,” Jim loved to be outside mowing his grass and tending to his yard. If not putting on his own yard sale, Jim loved to go find a good deal at others in the neighborhood. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his grandkids.
