James H. Bann,Sr.

James H. Bann, Sr., 68, of Catlin, passed away at 7:32am, December 24, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. He was born on March 12, 1940, in Danville, the son of John Gilbert and Mary Louise (Monette) Bann, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Frances Jeannie Johnson on November 16, 1963, in Westville, IL. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his sons, James H. (Angie) Jr. of Mapleton, IL, and John W. Bann of Westville; his daughter, Jamie L. Bann of Catlin; his grandchildren, Austin James Bann, Evan Alexander Bann, & Carson Montgomery Bann, all of Mapleton, IL; and his sister, Shirley A. Hughes of Westville. James was preceded in death by: three brothers, four sisters, and his three dogs, Laddie, Lady, & Lucky. Before he retired, he worked at as a supervisor for various companies. He served in the Army Reserve. He was a member of the American Legions Post #51 and American War Dads #61. He enjoyed playing cards & playing pool. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, who were the pride of his life. A celebration of James life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. Tim Wright will officiate the service. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm, Saturday prior to the service
