James H. Bann Sr

CATLIN " James H. Bann Sr., 68, of Catlin, passed away at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. He was born on March 12, 1940, in Danville, the son of John Gilbert and Mary Louise (Monette) Bann, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Frances Jeannie Johnson on Nov. 16, 1963, in Westville. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his sons, James H. (Angi) Bann Jr. of Mapleton and John W. Bann of Westville; his daughter, Jamie L. Bann of Catlin; his grandchildren, Austin James Bann, Evan Alexander Bann, and Carson Montgomery Bann, all of Mapleton; and his sister, Shirley A. Hughes of Westville. James was preceded in death by: three brothers, four sisters, and his three dogs, Laddie, Lady and Lucky. Before he retired, he worked at as a supervisor for various companies. He served in the Army Reserve. He was a member of the American Legions Post 51 and American War Dads 61. He enjoyed playing cards and playing pool. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, who were the pride of his life. A celebration of James life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. Tim Wright will officiate the service.
