James Greene

James Greene, 84 of Danville passed away at 9:30 pm on Monday, May 14, 2018 at Hawthorne Inn, Danville. He was born on March 6, 1934 in Danville, Illinois the son of Harley & Minnia (Allen) Greene. James was united in marriage to Emma Lou Greene September 28, 1957. He will be dearly missed by his son, James (Debbie) Greene; brothers, Paul and John Greene; sisters, Helen Turner and Virginia Walsh; three grandsons and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lou; parents, Harley and Minnia; sons, Mark and Robert Greene and one great-granddaughter. Jim was proud to serve in the United States Army. He worked at Greene Oil Company as a gas station manager and a courier Quest Medical Services. He was a member at Faith Baptist Church in Danville. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion, Danville. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Jim's name to Faith Baptist Church, AlS Association or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
