James G. Everson

James G. Everson, 89, of Covington, passed away at 8:07am, Monday, December 28, 2020, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville, IL. He was born on August 26, 1931, in Ladoga, Indiana, the son of Frantz W. and Nannie B. {Woodall} Everson. He was united in marriage to Betty Lou McClure on January 10, 1951, until her passing on February 25, 2007. His son, Junior (Brenda) Everson also preceded him in death. He is survived by his two daughters, Dorene Barnhart and Carolyn (Bill) Lindquist; his two brothers, Clayton (Betty) Everson & Tom (Katy) Everson; his sister-in-law, Helen Maynard; his eight grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Ivan, Joe & Herbert; and three sisters, Pat, Marilyn, & Jean. James enjoyed helping his father on the farm and playing basketball with his brothers. Prior to his retirement from Sugar Creek Sawmill after 11 years, he had worked 3 years at Raco Security Guard and 26 years at Harrison Steel. A celebration of James life will be held privately at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932 with Rich Stadler officiating. Public visitation will be 11:00am 1:00pm, Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington.
