James Farrell, 91, of Westville, passed away at 8:46am, Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. He was born on March 25, 1917, in Hemrod, IL, the son of Edgar and Annie (Payne) Farrell, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Mary Siglinsky on April 10, 1946. He will be dearly missed by: his wife, Mary Farrell of Westville; his sister, Edith Spries of Danville; many nieces & nephews; and special friend & neighbor, John Battle. His brother, Roy Farrell, preceded him in death. James served in WWII and then later worked at Chanute Air Force Base where he was the head jet-engine instructor. He was a member of the American Legion Post #51 where he was the most senior member. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the Shriners. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter & fisherman. He also enjoyed bowling and loved to garden. He really loved feeding his squirrels. A celebration of James life will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, December 29, 2008, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm prior to the service on Monday. He will be laid to rest in Sandusky Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in his name to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
