James Eugene Tintorri, 92, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:55pm, Monday, July 12, 2010, at VA Illiana Healthcare Systems, Danville. He was born on April 9, 1918, the son of Louis and Jenny {Boggio} Tintorri, both deceased. He was united in marriage to F. Clarice Rundel on March 15, 1952, in Paris, IL. She will miss him dearly. Others who will miss him include: his daughter, Janine (James) Kohl of Bismarck; his son, Darryl Tintorri of Pompano Beach, FL; his stepson, James (Sara) Switzer of Danville; his eight grandchildren, Michael Eugene Adams, Blake Tintorri, Spencer Tintorri, Kate Tintorri, Truli Gillepsie, Duane Duprey, J.R. Switzer, & Tamara Switzer; his eight great grandchildren; his brother, Joseph Tintorri of Vacaville, CA; and his sister, Celia Reasor of Danville. He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Theresa; his brothers, Charles and his sisters, Catherine, Elizabeth, & Minnie. James worked at the coal mines in his early years, but then worked and retired from General Motors. He was a proud Veteran of the US Marines serving during WWII. He was a life-member of the VFW #728 and past commander of the Georgetown American Legion Dornblaser Post #203. He enjoyed going mushroom hunting, fishing, & gardening. Most of all, James cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. A Celebration of James Life will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, July 16, 2010, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown with Pastor Matt Feliscky officiating. Visitation will be 4pm " 7pm, Thursday, July 15, 2010, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Dornblaser Post #203.
