James "Jim" E. Siddens, 83, of Danville, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Friday, August 12th, 2011 at his home. Jim was born on June 23rd, 1928, in Danville, the son of Forrest and Mary (Davan) Siddens. He married Wanda Siddens in September of 1948 in Danville. She preceded him in death on July 24th, 1992. He later married Carol Pfrank on October 20th, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives. He is also survived by a son- Mike (Ruth) Siddens of Mitchell, Indiana; two daughters- Fern Handley of Carmel, Indiana and Diane Gillis of Carmel, Indiana; two brothers- Wayne Siddens of Toledo, Ohio and Bill (Becky) Siddens of Danville; brother-in-law- Kym (Heather) Pfrank of West Terre Haute, Indiana; sister-in-law- Linda (Brian) Lonneman of Terre Haute, Indiana; four grandchildren- Ryan and Travis Handley of Florida and Sarah Siddens of Bedford, Indiana and Amy Siddens of Evansville, Indiana; two great-grandchildren- Rebel Marie Handley and Levi Garret Handley; friend- Mike (Karla) Story of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Wanda and three sisters- Dorothy Siddens, Lois Siddens and Anna Louise Siddens. Jim attended Liberty Grade School and Bismarck High School. He worked for O Neil Brothers Construction, SJ Groves, Siddens Landscaping and later worked at the City of Danville, until retiring in February of 1998. Jim was very active in Boy Scouts for over 20 years, coaching little league, he helped build the old Jaycees Park, helped at Laura Lee Fellowship Hall and helped construct the Lake Blvd. Little League Park. He was a member of the Moose Lodge for over 20 years. Jim enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially his favorite driver Bill Elliott. Jim also enjoyed wood working, traveling, bowling, gardening, reading, restoring old cars and tinkering in the yard and the garage. A Memorial Service for James "Jim" E. Siddens will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 20th, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with Pastor Rod Godley officiating. Jim's wishes were to be cremated.
