James E. Martin

James E. Martin, 47, of Danville passed away on February 28, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on June 18, 1971 in Germany the son of, Thomas and Judith (Howie) Martin.

James will be deeply missed by his mother, Judith, children; Jessica (Matthew) Pitts, Kaenan Martin and Talon Martin, grandchild, Carter Pitts and two special friends, Troy Reffett and Jan Hines.

He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Laura Martin.

James was the assistant manager at Save-A-Lot for several years. He enjoyed writing songs, playing guitar, and singing. He was a member of two bands in his younger years. He collected guns, knives, swords and dragons. James liked to fix bicycles and sell them in his spare time along with playing pool in the Busch League. Most of all he loved his children.

A celebration of James life will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 North Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834. Visitation will be held from 2-3 PM prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at West Lebanon Cemetery in Indiana.
