Danville - James “Calvin” Brown, 79, of Danville, passed away February 18, 2014. He was born August 10, 1934 in Danville, IL the son of Robert and Ethel Meeker Brown. He is survived by his son, Robert (Vicky) Brown; his sisters, Corabelle Todd and Louellyn Edwards; his daughter-in-law Becky; his grandchildren, Lindsey, Chase, and Chad Brown; his great-grandchildren, Amelia, Madilynn, Dakota, Darbiee, and Draycin; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James; and his brothers, Verlan, Leland, and Darrell James was a man who loved his work; he started Brown Trucking and Excavating in 1968, and it is still running strong to this day. He was the type of man you could go to with a problem, and he would always have the solution for you. James also enjoyed spending time relaxing by his pond, he never had a line touch water; he simply loved to sit and enjoy the scenery. James was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of The Shriners, as well as a member of The Gao Grotto. Above all else, James loved his family and he will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him. A visitation will be held from 9am-11am on Saturday February 22, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville.
