James C. Davis

James Davis, 73, of South Danville, passed away at 5:33 AM on Tuesday, June 14 2016 at his daughter's home with her by his side. He was born January 23, 1943 in Haskell, TX the son of Clifton and Sybil Thompson Davis. He was united in marriage to Frances Raspberry on December 22, 1969, she precedes him in death in 2013. Jim was the father of James Harris, Jamie Harris, both of California, William (Robin) Carl of Naples, Florida, Joe Carl of Warren, Arkansas, Drina (Todd) Smith of Cayuga, Indiana, Gerri (Marcus) Neal of Hartford City, Indiana, and Jeffery Davis of Danville; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Sharon Coddington of Abilene, Texas; 2 brothers, Bobby and Dudley Davis, both of Texas. Jim was preceded in death by; three sons, Robert Carl, James Carl and Daniel Davis; granddaughter, Kelsey Smith; his wife Frances (Raspberry) Davis. Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict where he served as a "Navy man" which he so proudly proclaimed. He loved fishing as a hobby, but most of all Jim loved his family deeply. A Celebration of James' life will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St, Westville. Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-1:00pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Danville National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made be given his name to the Danville National Cemetery.
