James Bloomfield, 80, of Danville passed away January 30, 2016. He was born December 5, 1935 in Muncie, IL to Henry Elmer and Marguerite (Brown) Bloomfield. He married Mary Joan Calton January 17, 1953, she preceded him in death in 2006. James is survived by his son, James Bloomfield, Jr. of Danville; daughters, Peggy (Carle Powell) Bloomfield of Oakwood, Lynn (Dean) Boys of Danville; special granddaughter whom he raised, Jamie Sue (Corey) Rice of Westville; sisters, Betty Atwood of Danville, LaVerne Gill of Westville, Pattie Rudd of Danville, Norma Jean (Charles) Arnett of Culver, IN; 9 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. James was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; sons, Roger Allen and Thomas Gene; 5 sisters; and 1 brother. James owned and operated Bloomfield Well Repair in Danville. He enjoyed starting his day at Marge's Sale Barn Caf the after she closed, he enjoyed going to Henk's Caf in Danville. He enjoyed family reunions, riding motorcycles, dancing, RFD TV and tinkering around his garage. He was a prankster at every chance. He was a great father and always provided for his family. A celebration of James' life will be held 10 AM Friday, February 5, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be held 4-7 Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the funeral home. James final resting place will be at Hebron Cemetery in Newtown. Memorials may be given to his family. Please join his family in sharing memories on his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
