Danville- James Allen Durbin, 65, of Mahomet, IL, passed away at 2:02 PM on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born on August 3, 1946 in Willard, OH to Donald and Kathryn Bundschu Durbin. He married Teresa Ann Bertsch on April 25, 2007 in Sycamore, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Durbin of Jacksonville, FL and Jon Durbin, also of Jacksonville; two step-children, Cheryl Blythe of Palm Coast, FL and Derek Blythe of Ormond Beach, FL; a brother, Robert (Julie) Durbin of PA; and a grandson, Kyle Durbin. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Donnah Stover and Darlene Johnson. Jim worked in the trucking industry as a Director of Operations for Standard Warehousing, and most recently Roberson Trucking. He was also a past Police Officer and State Highway Patrolman for Ohio. Jim was a Mason and a member of the Willard Ohio Golden Rule Lodge and the Mason, OH Masonic Lodge. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching sports of every kind. Jim enjoyed playing golf, traveling, eating out, going on cruises, and loved visiting his family and grandson on vacation. He also liked to share snacks and watch TV with his special dog, Bailey. Jim was a loving husband and a devoted father, and enjoyed spending time with all of his family and friends. A service to celebrate the life of Jim Durbin will be held at 1 PM on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 12-1 PM, prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
