James A. Roberts

James A. Jim Roberts, SR., 50, of Westville, passed away at 12:41pm, Sunday, March 22, 2015, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on December 3, 1964, in Danville, IL, the son of George W. Jr. and Diana June {Petit} Roberts. He was previously married to Sherry Shaw Sanders who survives. He is also survived by: his mother, Diana June Roberts of Westville; his son, Jimmy A. Roberts Jr. of Westville; his brother, William Bill Ray (Brenda) Roberts of Danville; his sister, Susan L. Roberts of Westville; his grandson, Drake Roberts of Westville; his nieces & nephews, Jeff (Tabitha) Roberts, Kayla Roberts, Amy Roberts, Greg Shaw, Andrea Shaw, & Brent Shaw, all of Westville; his special friends, Steve & Barb Pataki of Westville, Mary Sanders of Indianola, & Michelle Roberts Schroeder of Westville. He was preceded in death by his father, George. Jim worked as a mechanic and had worked at McLanes in Danville. He was a 32 Mason with the Olive Branch Lodge. He loved going fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He loved his dog, Jasmine. But above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandson, Drake. A Memorial Service will be held at 7pm, Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Visitation will be held for family and friends from 4pm to 7pm prior to his service on Wednesday at the funeral home. As were his wishes, Jim was cremated. Memorial donations may be made to an Education Fund for his grandson, Drake.
