James Jim Alan Rife Crippin, 50, of Danville, passed away at 3:41 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2006 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. Jim was born on March 23, 1955 in Danville, the son of William and Jeannine (Ashby) Crippin. He married Sara Byers on October 17, 1998 in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She survives. Jim is also survived by his three sons- Jeremy (Kathy) Crippin of Virginia Beach, Virginia, James Earl Crippin of Danville, and Daniel Everett Lee Crippin of Danville; four daughters- Jennifer Malea (Freddy) Gonzalez of Danville, Jodie Lynn Crippin of Danville, Stephanie Ray Thomas of Danville, and Melissa Rose Crippin of Danville; five brothers- William (Brenda) Crippin of Cayuga, Indiana, Raymond Crippin of Danville, J.T. (Nikki) Ray of Danville, Corey Ray of Danville, and Bob (Beth) Ray of Danville; two sisters- Christine Fisher of Danville, and Gerri Lynn Rife of Danville; three grandchildren; four uncles- John Crippin of Virginia, Milton Bud (Jeannie) Crippin of Danville, Tom (Jackie) Crippin of Danville, and Chuck Ashby of Danville; one aunt- Lula Powell of Danville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father- Bill Crippin, two brothers Irshell Rife and Larry Rife; Maternal Grandparents- Everett and Waneta Ashby; and his paternal grandparents- William and Ruth Crippin. Jim attended Danville High School. Jim has worked for the last six years at Fleetwood in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was a member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. Jim loved to be outdoors. He enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing or just being around nature. He loved riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Jim was a member of the Wildlife Club and a member of ABATE. Jims children was his life and nothing meant more to him than making his children happy and spending as much time with them as possible. Family life was everything to him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him and loved him. A celebration of the life of James Jim Alan Rife Crippin will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, with Pastor Dave Garver officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Jim Crippin marker fund in care of Sunset Funeral Home.
