Perrysville, Ind. - Jacqueline Sue Bowman, 74, of Perrysville, passed away at 3:45 a.m. EDT Monday, October 4, 2021, at The Waters of Covington having been ill for 1 year.

Jackie was born January 15, 1947 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Phillip and Avis (Crowder) Montague.

Jackie married Jerry L. Bowman on September 13, 1968, at the Perrysville United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2014.

Jackie will be missed by her family, brother: Mike (Jean Ann) Montague of Perrysville, Indiana; brother-in-law: Mike (Becky) Bowman of Perrysville, Indiana; nieces: Tina (Scott) Pickel and Robin (Joe) Thoma; nephew: Cory (Samantha) Bowman, along with several great nieces and nephews. In recent years, Jackie has enjoyed spending time with her lifelong friend, Ralph Morgan and his family as they had become very special to her.

Jackie lived her entire life in Perrysville. She owned and operated a beauty shop out of her home for 35 years and had formed many close relationships though her business. Jackie was a 1965 graduate of North Vermillion High School. She loved spending time in the woods, enjoyed hunting mushrooms and ginseng. Jackie also enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. She spent many days on the Wabash river in the summer and loved watching the changing of the seasons overlooking the river from her porch. Jackie loved to cook and was a wonderful baker. She enjoyed reading and creating which led to many different types of crafts such as rug making and turning gourds into birdhouses.

Graveside service and inurnment: Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2 p.m. EDT at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville, Indiana. Officiating: Pastor Joe Humrichous. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana is assisting the family with arrangements.
