Jacquelin 'Jackie' Benza

Jacquelin "Jackie" Benza, 59, of Monticello IL., passed away at 9:35 am on Friday June 28, 2013 at Carle Hospital in Urbana IL. Jackie was born on July 11, 1953 to John and Rita (Boldyga) Benza in Chicago IL. She is survived by her granddaughter Ciera (Justin Kato) Benza of Covington IN.; mother Rita Benza; sister Michelle (Bob) Winslow of Chicago; boyfriend Ron Hayden; daughter-in-law Tammy (Todd) Wyman of Cayuga, and her close friend Cara Goin. Jackie was preceded in death by her son Robert Benza in 1999 and her father John. Jackie spent her early years in Chicago before moving south where she found a home in Monticello. Jackie opened her heart to all animals and had a special connection with her cats and dogs. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed spending time with them during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Jackie loved to travel while on vacation, she had a passion for cooking family meals and baking treats for her loved ones and she was an avid Elvis fan. As per her family's wishes Jackie is to be cremated with a memorial gathering to be held at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made in Jackie's name to the D.A.B.B (Diamonds Arms Bullied Breeds) Rescue and Shelter at 17 Fern St. Urbana, IL 61802. Monetary donations or dog supplies are welcome.
