Jacob is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Fridel Gerbsch and his maternal great-grandparents and paternal great-grandfathers and a great-grandmother.

Jacob was raised in Covington, Indiana and graduated valedictorian from Covington High. He then headed to the University of Miami to study Psychology and Creative Writing, graduating Magna cum Laude. He chased his dream and headed to NYC to pursue his passion for stand up comedy. It was while living in Brooklyn that Jacob met the love of his life, Hina "Booba", many of his dearest friends and also his "golden girl", Blanche, a rescue puppy that stole his heart. They were inseparable. Between his many ventures, he attended Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo for the first time in 2010 and was hooked. He rarely missed a festival again and loved piling in the car with his brother and friends to attend. He was a comedian, writer, thinker, drummer, gamer, conspiracy theorist, conversationalist, amazing cook and competitive to his core. In his last year and a half he was a warrior, as he fought cancer and PSC valiantly. He loved playing basketball and watching NBA games "Go Bucks!". Jacob was blessed to fill his life that was cut too short with the things he loved the most. He always showed up for his friends and family, loved them deeply, and would gladly give anyone the shirt off of his back. And he laughed, Lord did he laugh, and brought everyone around him laughter too, even in his toughest times.
