Jackson Doyle Cline, age 84, of Westville, went to be with the Lord at 3:25 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at North Logan Health Care Center in Danville. He was born November 23, 1924 in Clinton, IN the son of George and Edith (Whippo) Cline. He married Betty J. Wilfong on December 23, 1942 in Clinton, IN they were united in marriage for 62 years. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2005. Jackson is survived by four sons: Jerald D. (Tracie) Cline, Jeffery D. Cline, Jonathan D. (Barbara) Cline, Joseph D. (Peggy) Cline; one daughter: Jennifer D. (Cline) Johnson (Tony House); one brother: George Cline; one sister: Cindy (Gary) Blanton; one daughter-in-law: Karen Bilstad (Cline); a very special friend: Louanne Parrish; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son: James D. Cline, and two brothers: Jim and Chuck Cline. After graduating from high school, Jackson served in the United States Army during WWII. After returning from the war, he worked for the railroad for almost forty years until retiring. Jackson also owned and operated Cline Motor Clinic. He attended the Trinity United Church of Christ and Central Park Church of Christ. Jackson was a member of the Ridge Farm Masonic Lodge # 632 and was an honorary member of many lodges in the area because of all the work he did for them. He served as a Grand Lecturer, Past District Deputy Grand Master, Past Grand Organist, and Past Grand Governor York Rite College. Jackson was a 33-Degree Scottish rite member and a member of the Ansar Shrine, a lifetime member of the VFW and a member of the Illiana Organeers. He enjoyed playing music for local nursing home and churches. He also repaired and donated organs for groups and organizations that were in need of them. He liked working on cars. Jackson loved spending time with his family. They will miss him greatly. A celebration of the life of Jackson Cline will be held at 10 am Saturday, January 24, 2009 at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 2 to 8 pm on Friday, January 23, 2009 with a Masonic Service being held at 7:30 pm.
