Jackie W. Stark, Jr.

Danville – Jackie W. Stark, Jr., 100, of Danville, passed away at 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman. He was born on July 28, 1925, in Georgetown, IL to Jackie W. Stark, Sr. and Victoria (Crupernik) Stark.

He is survived by two children, Janice Ferguson and John Stark; three siblings, Ronald (Martha) Stark, Eleanor Robb, and Betty Stark; and his special friends and caregivers, Greg and Kathy Hooker.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Donald Stark, and two sisters, Wanda Stark and Juanita Suddreff.

Jackie enlisted in the United States Army out of high school and proudly served his country during WWII. He would carry on his legacy of service after his honorable discharge by beginning his work as a missionary. Jackie was a man of faith and did his best to share that belief with others in his community. He continued his spirit of giving by regularly volunteering his time and money with several charitable organizations over the years.

A service to celebrate the life of Jackie W. Stark, Jr. will be held at 12:30 PM on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Pastor Wes Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow at Danville National Cemetery where military honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #210. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the service on Monday, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials in Jackie’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
