Jackie Junior Adkins

Jackie Jr. Adkins, 80, of Lewistown, Il, formerly Danville, passed away at 11:07am on Sunday September 25, 2016 at the Prairieview Care Center in Lewistown, IL. Jackie was born the son of Harold and Ruby Adkins on December 27, 1935. Later Jackie married Kay Cannon and they had one son. Jackie is survived by his son Timothy Adkins; one sister, Natalie Richards; and several grandchildren. Jackie is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Opal Leone. Jackie was a very friendly person, making friends with everyone he was in contact with. Jackie studied at Henning High School class of 1954 and early in his life was stationed in Germany as a member of the United States Army. He then moved in with his sister Natalie and spent the next 25 years living in California before returning to Danville, IL. Jackie will be sadly missed by his sister. Jackie's family have held a graveside service for him at Sunset Memorial Park 3901 North Vermilion St. in Danville on Friday September 30, 2016 at 10AM.
