Jackie J. Shoufler 57, of Danville, passed away at 4:16 AM, Tuesday September 6, 2011, at Memorial Medical Hospital in Springfield. Jackie was born on May 2, 1954 to Morris and Jean (Stevens) Glouser in Danville. She was happily married to Karl Shoufler on September 11, 1982 in Danville, IL for 29 years. He survives. She is also survived by one daughter- Jacki Patricia (Tony) Demchak of Manhattan, KS, one sister- Jackie Lynn (Michael) Smith of Westville, IL, several nieces and nephews, and two special friends- Debbie Goins and Kathy Finley. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister-Patricia Nees. Jackie graduated from Danville High School in 1972 and then enrolled at Danville Area Community College receiving her LPN license in 1974. She was a nurse for 25 years. She was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church where she loved her church family and Pastor Rod Godley. Jackie enjoyed taking care of others, working as a nurse, making others laugh, camping, reading, and was an avid storyteller. She especially loved her dog "Dobbie" and all other animals. Funeral Services will be held at Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville on Friday September 9, 2011 at 10 AM with Pastor Rod Godley officiating. A celebration of life will take place at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville on Thursday September 8th from 4-7 PM. Entombment will take place after the service at Sunset Memorial Parks Mausoleum. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made in Jackie's name to the Vermilion Heights Christian Church, St. Jude's Childrens Hospital or The Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
