Jackie H. Lamar

Jackie H. Lamar, 92, of Westville, passed away at 2:29am, Monday, May 15, 2023, at his home. He was born on May 29, 1930, in Cayuga, Indiana, the son of Clyde and Eva {Moreman} Lamar. He was united in marriage to Betty Orlea on June 26, 1955, until her passing. Jackie is survived by his children, Scott (Connie) Lamar and Cynthia Johnson, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty. Jackie was a proud Veteran of the US Army served in combat during the Korean War. He worked at General Motors for many years until retirement. He was a master gardener, and he had a huge garden that he loved to take care of and also loved to donate what he had grown to many. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and was known as a big St. Louis Cardinals fan as well as Illini fan. Jackie was a member of the American Legion Post #51 in Westville. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of Jackies life will be held Graveside at 10:00am, Monday, May 22, 2023, at Sandusky Cemetery, rural Westville with Darrell Perkins officiating. His arrangements were entrusted with Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883.
