Jackie D. Rainey

Newport, Ind. - Jackie D. Rainey, 77, of Newport passed away at 3:12 p.m. EDT Monday, June 3, 2019 at 3:12 p.m. EDT at Clinton Gardens in Clinton, Indiana.

Jackie was born October 5, 1941 in Bedford, Indiana the son of the late William L. and Thelma B. (Roach) Rainey.

He married Jane Pearman on March 22, 1969 in Newport, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include two sisters: Darla Thomas and Linda Steister both of Lafayette, Indiana; two brothers: Mike (Stephanie) Rainey of Florida and Jerry Rainey of Lafayette, Indiana; sister-in-laws: Joyce Delph of Clinton, Indiana and Betsy Pearman of Newport, Indiana; brother-in-law: Marion (Deb) Pearman of Newport, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by one sister; two brothers and brother-in-laws: Sammy Pearman and Ronnie Delph.

Jackie retired from the General Motors Central Foundry in Tilton, Illinois. He was a member of the Newport S.A.L. He enjoyed mowing his yard and watching T.V.

Funeral services: 3 p.m. EDT Friday, June 7, 2019 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Ramona Trover; Burial: Hopewell Cemetery in Quaker, Indiana; Visitation: 1 p.m. EDT Friday, June 7, 2019 until time of services at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Newport Church of God.
