Jack Robert Willis, 86, of Danville, passed away at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman, IL. Jack was born April 11, 1921 in Danville, the son of Abe and Gladys E. (Hoban) Willis. He married Gladys M. (Wier) on June 11, 1939 in Hope, IL. Jack is survived by two sons, Robert Bob (Alene) Willis and William Bill (Cheryl) Willis, both of Danville, and four grandchildren Andrew (Jessica) Creviston of Westville, James Willis of Westville, Tammy (Mike) Conrad of Ridge Farm, and Brenda Wakeland. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Gladys. Jack was a heavy equipment operator at General Motors in Tilton for several years. Jack achieved the rank of corporal in the United Sates Army and served his country during WWII. He was a life long member of the VFW Post #728, as well as belonging to the UAW and NRA. Jack was mechanically inclined and enjoyed spending his time tinkering in his garage. A celebration of Jacks life will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center on Friday, June 1, 2007, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor David Rumley Officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007, from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Sunset Mausoleum. Military honors will be performed by the VFW Post#728.
