Jack Watson

Jack Watson, 92, of Danville, left this life at 1:30am on Friday, May 4, 2018, at his home. He was born on March 7, 1926, the son of Thomas H & Nellie (Smoot) Watson, in Danville. He married, Betty Micko in 1947. She preceded him in death in 1994. He then married Dorothy R. Vasser. She preceded him in death in 1998. He later married Janet J. (Muirhead) Jacobs in 2000, she survives. He will be dearly missed by daughters, Sue Martin, Nancy J. (Dwight) Palmer both of Danville, & Vicki L. (Gary) Bogan of Tracy, CA; Grandchildren, Mike Palmer of Danville, Doug (Samantha) Palmer of Decatur, Jennifer (Daniel) Martin of Tracy, CA, Mark Bogan of Tracy, CA, Rick (Michelle) Glover of Covington, & Nancee (Rich) Taylor of Danville; 11 great grandchildren; special family friend, Louis "Buckwheat" Roberts; loving caretaker, Jodie Duncheon. Jack served in the US Navy in World War 2 in the South Pacific. He retired from the CSX Railroad after 35 years of service. he was a life member of the Elks of Dunedin, FL. He was a member of the Asar Masons, Springfield, IL, & past president of the Eastern, IL Shriners. He also belonged to the Grotto & the American Legion Post 210 in Danville. Jack loved fishing, golfing, traveling & playing cards. He loved his daughters, his grandchildren, & great grandchildren. He loved his Pomeranian, Brandy & his wife Janet. Later his two Shih Tzus, Lucy Liu & Tucker. Jack's wishes will be honored with a private family service. He will be laid to rest in Springhill Cemetery. Memorial donation may be given in his honor to the Shriners Hospital or ASPC (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals.
