Jack Myers, 83, of Georgetown, passed away at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at his residence. Jack was born May 20, 1923, in Fondulac, Wisconsin, the son of William P. and Charlotte Ann (Sanders) Myers. He married Winifred (Toby) Freese on December 18, 1946 in Danville. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2005. Jack is survived by a son, William R. Myers of Danville and a daughter, Judy A. (Donald) Miller of Paxton, IL; four grandchildren, Theresa Long of Urbana, IL, Marina (Robert) Rush of Potomac, IL, Robert Myers of Westville, IL, and Michael Miller of Paxton, IL, and three great-grandchildren and a very dear family member, Paulette Myers. His parents preceded him in death. Jack worked in the construction business as an iron worker and retired after twenty-two years from the University of Illinois. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II and received the Victory Ribbon. Jack was a past member of the Masonic Lodges in Danville and Ridgefarm and also the Moose Lodge in Danville. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Crawfordsville, IN and the Iron Workers Union in Champaign, IL. A celebration of Jacks life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Phillip Jackson officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park . Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Jacks name to the American Lung Association.
