Jack Laverne Johnson

Jack LaVerne Johnson, 59, of Danville passed away at 4:05pm Sunday, February 11, 2007 at his residence. Jack was born May 14, 1947 the son of Garfield LaVerne and Norma Jean Hicks Johnson. He married Vickie Richards on July 17, 1993 in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are his children Jack L. (Cindy) Johnson of Danville, Joseph 9Stephanie) McCoy of Danville, Kisha (Pedro) Rangel and Amanda Thomas of Georgetown: Brothers Mike (Veronica) Johnson of Danville, Gary (Carol) Johnson of Rantoul and Walter (Janie) Johnson of Danville; grandchildren Kiley and Karli Johnson, Lani McCoy, Tony Rangel, Janiya and NaShia Smith; brother in laws Danny Hernandez, Warren Richards and Tysen Richards all of Gerogetown. Also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and an infant sister. Jack enjoyed NASCAR racing and Bingo and was also former lead guitar for the Old time Rock & Roll 59 Band. He had been last employed with Freight Car in Danville. He will be missed by all who knew him. A celebration of the life of Jack L. Johnson will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. James Blue officiating.
