Jack L. Martin

Dana, Ind. - Jack L. Martin, 77, of Dana, passed away at 7 a.m. EDT Monday, May 7, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on January 7, 1941 in Kankakee, Illinois the son of the late Norma (Weaver) McWhirt and Robert Luke Martin.

Jack married Dorothy Joann Myers on September 24, 1960 in Dana, Indiana. She survives.

Other survivors include his son, Luke (Debbie) Martin of Dana, Indiana; two grandsons, Branden L. (Kelsey West) Martin and Justin W. (Casey) Martin, and one great granddaughter, Mia Martin.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Tillie Graham.

Jack was a retired Millwright from local 103 in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Montezuma Fish and Game Club, Odd Fellows Lodge in Hillsdale, Indiana and the founder of the former Tri-County Bow Hunters Association. Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, metal detecting, gold dredging and hunting for Indian artifacts.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Friday, May 11, 2018 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana; Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. EDT Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the funeral home.
