Danville- Jack D. Edwards, 83, of Danville passed away at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville. He was born on March 19, 1929 in Danville to Leslie and Helen Justice Edwards. He married Louella M. Brown on December 26, 1946 in Kentucky. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Nancy (Clay) Hicks of Bismarck, Gregory (Terri) Edwards of Covington; daughter-in-law Linda Edwards of Arizona; grandchildren Tony (Rita) Hicks, Sherrie (Steve) Edwards, Joshua (Trisha) Edwards, Jessica (Scott) Gillespie, Jodi (Danny) Ralston and step-grandson Shawn Hillard; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; brothers Robert (Mary Ellen) Edwards, Donald (Rosie) Edwards; and sister, June (Paul) Ziebart. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Michael G. Edwards. Jack retired from Hyster in 1983 after 33 years of service and also owned and operated Edwards saw filing shop for many years. He was an Elder Demetrius for Old Union Church and was still an active member of Crossroads Christian Church. Jack enjoyed carpentry and horses, but loved being with his family, especially his grandkids, but also loved being around his church family. A service to celebrate the life of Jack Edwards will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Crossroads Christian Church in Danville. Pastor Miles Clark will officiate. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 PM on Friday, January 11, also at Crossroads. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Christian Church.
