Jack L. Cummings, 83, of Danville passed away at 7:08 p.m. December 8, 2005 at North Logan Healthcare in Danville. Jack was born on May 31, 1922 in Danville, the son of Clem and Evelyn (King) Cummings. He married Ileana Mae Kinney on November 22, 1943 in Tupelo, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on December 13, 1992. He is survived by his three sons- Gary (Peggy) Cummings of Danville, Randy Joe (Patricia) Cummings of Danville, and Tab Lee Cummings of Jacksonville, Florida; three brothers-in-law- George Harmeson, Estel Kinney, and Kenneth Kinney; five sisters-in-law- Evelyn Woodard, Norma Harmeson, Hazel Kinney, Jervae Kinney, and Pearl Cummings; one aunt- Helen Reffett of Jamestown, California; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many very special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three brothers. Jack graduated from Urbana High School. Jack worked as a building contractor for many years. He worked for Bullock Construction, sub contracted for Fleming-Weller and he owned Safeway Construction until he retired in 1992. Jack was a Jehovahs Witnesses active since 1939. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall. Jack loved to fish anywhere especially in Florida. He loved boats and enjoyed collecting and selling them. Jack also enjoyed working on his house and remodeling older homes. A celebration of the life of Jack L. Cummings will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses 619 Voorhees St. Danville, Illinois , with Edward Lovett officiating.
