Jack Chmeilewski

Jack Chmeilewski, 83, of Danville, passed away at 3:30am, Saturday, May 21, 2017, at North Logan Health Care Center, Danville. He was born in Danville, IL, on March 16, 1934, to Joseph and Mary {Morris} Chmeilewski. Jack was married to Geneva Jean "Nellie" Shiplett on June 1, 1962, until her passing. He was also preceded in death by: their son, Michael; his parents; his brother, Joseph "Posch" Chmeilewski; and his sisters, Dorothy (William) Kronas and Violet Williams. Jack will sadly be missed by: his nephew, Ted (Barbara) Kronas; his special friend, Dolores Magarity; his 2 great nieces; one great-great nephew; and many friends. He proudly served in the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post #51 in Westville. After retiring as a tool & die maker, he enjoyed fishing, camping, cooking, and spending time with Dolores, Ted, and Barbara. Per his request, there will be no visitation. Graveside Service will be held 11:00am, Friday, May 26, 2017, at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Westville, IL, with Father Timothy Saupp officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to be given to Transitions Hospice, who took excellent care of Jack, and North Logan Health Care Center. The family would also like to thank the staff at North Logan Health Care Center. Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville assisted the family with arrangements.
