Izel Ann Van Fleet Duff, 91, of Indianola, passed away at 6:10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home, Danville. She was born April 18, 1917, in Indianola, the daughter of Samuel K. and Mabel Ellen (Harrell) Van Fleet, both deceased. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Duff on March 26, 1955, in Danville until his passing on Nov. 13, 1977. Izel graduated from Indianola High School in 1935. She attended and graduated from Roland Beauty School in 1937. She owned a beauty salon in Allerton until 1944 when she went to run Classic Beauty Salon in Danville for the following 26 years. They later moved to Chicago in the Wheeling area, where she then studied and graduated from Syd Simons Cosmetic Studios. Later she was an esthetician at Elite Style and Color until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown and also of the Danville Hairdressers Association. She will be missed by her stepson, Robert J (Rhea) Duff Jr. of Mission Viejo, Calif.; her stepgrandchildren, Jeremy Duff and Zachary (Allison) Duff, both of California; her great step-grandchildren, Braden and Sadie Duff; nieces and nephews, James (Mary) Brooks of Georgetown, Jane Richey of Colorado, Harrell (Rhea) Brooks of Olivet, Patricia (Robert) Winland of Georgetown, Sam (Alice) Corbin of Ridge Farm, Ruth White of Indianola and John (Ginger) Corbin of Danville. A celebration of Izels life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Steve Rutter will officiate. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville.
