Ivan Liggett

Ivan D. Liggett Sr., age 75, of Danville, passed away at 10:26 am on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Illiana Health Care System in Danville. He was born October 17, 1932 in Danville the son of Shelby J. Sr. and Ettabelle (Kizer) Liggett. Ivan married Norma J. Hurst on March 17, 1983. She survives. He is also survived by one son: Ivan Jr. (Gail) Liggett of Fairview Park, Ohio; two daughters: Angelica and Brenda; one brother: Shelby Jr. (Caroline) Liggett of Tilton; a granddaughter: Amanda Bauer of Fairview Park, OH; a great grandson: Jacob Bauer of Fairview Park, OH; a brother and sister in law: Larry and Anna Taylor of Tilton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Deanne, one sister: Yvonne Brown. Ivan attended Danville schools. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War from November 8, 1949 to July of 1953. Ivan worked at the VA Hospital in Danville until his retirement in 1994. He then became a volunteer at the hospital up until his health no longer would allow him.
