Danville – Ivan H. Ford, Jr., 75, of Danville, passed away at 4:17 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at his home with his family. He was born on March 19, 1951, in Michigan to Ivan H. Ford, Sr. and Anna (Drake) Ford. He married the love of his life, Connie Dillion, on June 24, 1972, having just celebrated 54 years of marriage. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Nick (Angi) Ford and Rob (Jennifer) Ford, both of Danville; six grandchildren, Trae (Emily) Ford and Landyn Ford, and Chase, Connor, Cirie, and Cade Ford, as well as two step-grandchildren, Kennedy Richards and Carly (Tyler) Coffman; two great grandchildren, Ava and Saylor Ford; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Derald Ford.
After high school, Ivan mostly served as a warehouse worker, first for Conron in Danville and later at Mettam Supply Co. until his retirement. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and would always be watching from home on game days. He was also an R/C car racing enthusiast, a hobby which allowed him to meet many friends which became a part of his “R/C Family.” His love for racing extended to dirt track late model events, especially when he could cheer for his favorite driver, Bobby Pierce. Ivan’s true passion was fishing, and he loved to be out on the water reeling in whatever he could catch. He liked bass fishing in particular and would rarely miss an opportunity to take his boat out for a day on the lake.
A service to celebrate the life of Ivan H. Ford, Jr., will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL, 61834. Burial will follow at Mann’s Chapel Cemetery in Rossville. Visitation will be held from 9-11 AM prior to the service on Wednesday, also at Sunset in Danville. Memorials in his name may be made to the American Heart Association.
