Irma Priest

Irma Arlene Priest, 89 of Georgetown, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at 7:20 AM at Gardenview Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born January 28, 1927 in Blount Township to James Bernard and Gertrude Rosalie {Sinkhorn} Cooley. On October 24, 1947 she married Clarence Parker "Red" Priest in Danville. He preceded her in death on March 7, 2004. Irma is survived by her children, Dan Priest of Georgetown and Sheila (David) Kittell of Danville; grandchildren, David Eugene (Connie) Kittell and Christopher Allen (Suzette) Kittell, both of Danville; great-grandchildren, Travis David Kittell of Champaign, Andrew Michael Kittell and Katherine Elane Kittell, both of Danville; close niece, Judith Ann Ramey of Georgetown; as well as several nieces, nephews, and church friends who will all miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Harold, Herman, and Lowell Cooley and Doris Ramey. Irma attended faithfully the Bible Missionary Church in Georgetown. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading her Bible, and auctions. Most of all she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. A Celebration of Irma's Life will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West Street, Georgetown. Pastor James Taylor will officiate. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Visitation will be held Tuesday prior to services at the funeral home from 11-1 PM. Memorials in Irma's name can be made to the Bible Missionary, 215 Mill Street, Georgetown, IL 61846 or the American Heart Association.
