Iris Dean Kielich, 79, of Westville, passed away at 11:50pm, Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her home. She was born on April 3, 1933, in Fountain Run, Kentucky, the daughter of John William and Alma {Morrison} Duncan. She married John Kielich on June 6, 1961 in Westville, he preceded her on August 25, 1995 She is survived by: her son, John Andrew Kielich of Westville; her daughter, Linda (Phillip) Cappello of Home Gardens; her grandchildren, Melissa (Andy) Rogers of Georgetown, Jim Turner of Westville, Jeff (Cynthia) Turner of Westville, Elisha (Chad) Pettit of Denver, CO, Angel (Adam) French of Atlanta, IL, & Grace Kielich of Jeffersonville, IN; and her eleven great grandchildren, including her very special great granddaughter, Trinity Rogers, whom Iris lovingly raised; and her brother, John (Norma) Duncan of Covington, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents. Iris graduated from Catlin High School and worked as a lab technologist in various hospitals until retiring in 1976. She loved gardening, canning, crocheting, and crafts. Iris loved being outdoors, going mushroom hunting, and going for drives in the country. Iris really enjoyed having the neighborhood kids around her and was an inspiration to them all into their adult lives. Most of all, Iris loved being surrounded by her family and grandchildren. A celebration of Iris' life will be held at2:00pm, Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Michael Munroe officiating. Visitation will be held 4-8pm, Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given in her name to Carle Hospice.
